The American League has had the DH system for 44 full seasons. It is now going in to its 45th season as of 2017 season. |

The National League has only used the DH during interleague play. But the new poll up on OTB could change that. |
The Designated Hitter or DH for short has been in the American League for 44 years and has been used in the National League only during interleague play games at the American League teams home stadium. But now the DH could be a League Wide rule in the AL and NL. The DH in both leagues would mean Pitchers do not have to hit anymore in NL which would mark the first time the pitcher hitter system wouldn't be used in the NL since Baseball has begun. So go vote on this big decision
