Interview: Clypse's Mind Set Going into Toronto

1. We all know why you left Baltimore, but some fans of the Blue Jays have actually went against you because of how you left. To be exact a Jays fan stated "What if he (Clypse) leaves us right after we get a winning record like he did in Baltimore. What if he isn't gonna stay here (Toronto) for the long run?" What do you have to say about that?

"I can understand continuity concerns but what thing fans must realize is that, we built a young, winning team in Baltimore. Not just for the short-term but the long term. I hope that even if i were to leave the team that the fans would be happy with the product on the field. My move was made with the intention to help the league and what was done is best for business. I can assure you I am here for the long run and if anything were to happen on the way to our Championship, i will make sure the Jays are left with a competent GM."

2. What's gonna be your ultimate goal in Toronto? Beat the Orioles a lot? Get to the playoffs? Win a World Series? Or get the Jays to a winning record? What is your ultimate goal as the new GM of the Blue Jays?

"All of the above with the sole intention of winning the World Series for this country. Canada has come a long way and the fans deserve the best team fans can want. I plan to make the necessary moves to not only win but win in the long term. We want the next 3 years and the next decade to be the Dynasty of the Birds!"

3. Do you have any bad blood with anyone in Baltimore? Do you think Baltimore has any bad blood with you?

"The only guy i've ever had bad blood with is Manny Machado but we took it to the back yard and everything is settled. I still keep in contact with a lot of those players. I see myself as a level 5 leader in this business. Being a level 5 leader comes with tons of relationships and the type of vibe in that locker room is awesome. Those guys are a bunch of jokesters but get serious when its time to get serious. They just love to have fun!"

4. What's your plan for Toronto gonna be? Rebuild, Trade a lot, spend on FA, etc. What's it gonna be?

"Looks like it'll be a reconstruction. lol There's a few guys on the roster that i'll be looking to trade and guys I am looking to sign in Free Agency. We want to keep this team competitive and relatively young."

Personal

1. Which GM do you believe is doing the best job with there team as of now?

"There's a few i'd like to name off. Spelf.......lmao yeah right. Seriously, Moves, Donnie, Titan, and CPB. Moves took on an old Philly team and brought their fans something to cheer about. With a high payroll they've managed to create a young team with studs. Donnie's Yankees are a very tough team. I expect them to compete year in and year out. Titan has made some great decisions that ultimately led them to a World Series. Great guy. CPB took over a really mediocre A's team and has been consistently making great moves for the team's future."

2. What team or GM do you consider your biggest rival?

"It would definitely have to be Donnie. This guy has trashed the Orioles since day one but all i can say is, Donnie should be happy my Orioles didn't have budget room over 100Mill or I'd destroy those Yankees."

3. What do you think of the new administration in OTB, or the OTB Revolution?

"Great move by the league. The dictator of before made it hard to really move this place in a forward direction. He was like Gov. Jerry Brown for California. He stood still and everyone was okay with it because they didn't digress. If you aren't growing, you're dying."

Thank you for your time.
