OTB News Catch Up!

So since I missed posting some news that happened at the beginning of the offseason this post will be pretty much all the big news that will help you catch up to the OTB Revolution.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So Free Agency has a new bidding system now as the old system of total amount has been changed to the system of using the FA Tool. FA Tool!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new COMP System was announced! "I am actually trying to re-create the form I used in MoGen that basically took out all human bias and just straight compared players to their peers and weighed their vitals as well. It was awesome and while we rewarded those low overall studs who performed well you did not see Brad Lincoln getting COMP A lol. Below are the crude new rules for this off-season and projected comp FA. I have COMP A, B, C. To explain Comp C; this is where you will see those guys with low vitals but higher performance or those high vital but low performance guys for the most part.

A= 1st rd Qualifying Offer 1yr 15M
B= 2nd rd Qualifying Offer 1yr 8M
C= 3rd rd Qualifying Offer 1yr 1M

IF YOU WANT COMPENSATION FOR YOUR PLAYERS PLEASE CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE RULES - THERE IS A FORMAT FOR COMPENSATION PLAYERS - you may have to go back and edit your offseason to ensure that your comp players are correct. Format is like this:

John Smith, release, offer arb 11.2 mil (Type A)

11.2 is the amount that the player will sign in-game for a one year deal.

For Type C Players the only have to be offered 1yr @ 1.0 to receive compensation

If a player does not sign in FA he will be signed to the one year offer he receives as compensation. No players will just be left to die. As you can see I used a combo of performance, age, and vitals in these. AKA Puig isnt a Type A or Michael Taylor. There are 6 Type A possibles for this year on the hitter side.

Also you are limited to the following:

Type A ( 1 per off-season giving up your first rd pick, if you don't have a first rd pick the COMP FA goes to the next highest bidder and you will forfeit your first rd pick the following season.)
Type B (Can sign as many as you want per off-season give up your 2nd rd pick, if you do not have one you will forfeit your 1st rd pick in the draft as well as your 2nd rd pick in the follow years draft. If you sign multiple Type B players the 2nd pick goes to the highest overall, all other subsequently get the next highest two picks. I.E I sign Marte and Beaven Comp B, Marte gets 2nd rder and Beaven gets the 3rd and 4th designation.)
Type C (Can sign as many as you want per season as follows. Highest overall in descending order gets 3rd rd pick, 4th rd pick, etc. If you run out of picks it goes to the following year as well.)

Note- Your still allowed to bid on your COMP players you release but your deal must exceed the total amount of the arbitration offer your gave the player. I.e your offer 1yr @ 12 million = 12 million total. You must exceed this in total amount to sign the player. This means no 1 yr 600k offers, "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Draft Pick Protection has been a hot topic lately with the new comp system and all so there was a poll put up in League Discussions on whether or not 1st Draft Pick in the top 10, 5, or 3 should be protected or not. If haven't done so yet you can still go vote Draft Pick Protection Poll

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The 16 Players that made it to Free Agency that are Comp Eligible.

After a absence the OTB Waiver System has returned with new rules and new importance past the July 31st Trade Deadline. So no longer with Crazy offers and calculating deals be done before the July trading deadline, they also can be done in August as well.

 Want an easier way to get rid of that big contract? Or maybe you just want to make a deal after the trade deadline? Well lucky enough, here at On the Bleachers we have a waivers system set up, but it comes with some rules.

1) Players may be put on waivers a maximum of 2 times. The first time you can choose to trade him to the team that claimed him, or pull him off waivers and keep him on your team. The second time you put him on waivers there is not pulling him back, you can only trade him the team that claimed him or Release the player.

2) Teams have 12 hours after you put a player on waivers to make their claims. After that 12 hours is up the winning claim will be posted and you will have an additional 12 hours to try to work out a deal, if the two teams cant work out a deal then the player will return to the original team and if its his second time on waivers he will be released. If no one claims the player then he may be traded at will to any team that also has someone that passed waivers or for Prospects.

3) Winning claims will be judged on standings. The team with the worst record in the same league as the team putting the player on waivers wins the bid. If no team in the same league claims the player, then he goes to the team with the worst record in the opposite league.

4) In order to make a trade past the July 31 trade deadline, all major league players in the deal must clear waivers. Players on minor league contracts do not have to clear.

Waiver Trade Deadline is AUG 31st

Now I think were all caught up!!
