Matt Adams at the 2016 All-Star Game.
Those great players I named above are either the best or highest paid baseball players in OTB at this time. But none of them have ever made Thirty Million dollars off a contract and neither has any other player in OTB. But now the Yankees are changing that with a big bang as after a huge bidding war over the American League MVP Matt Adams between the Yankees, Braves, and surprisingly the Pirates. Now your most likely wondering how much could Matt Adams have possibly been offered? 30 Million? 35 Million? 40? If you guessed any of those you'd be wrong. You'd be wrong because, the Yankees with there 300 Million dollar plus budget have offered and most likely have signed Matt Adams to a seven year Fifty Million dollar contract. This contract does not only mark the most money made in one season in 50 Million dollars but it also marks a record of most money that could be made in a contract as Matt Adams could make 350 Million Dollars at the end of the seven years.

This contract has caused some morale issues with some GMs against the Yankees and also the Dodgers considering there Budgets are both way too high, for example the Dodgers have a higher payroll then most teams do in there budget. From these morale issues have brought up the idea of a luxury tax for teams with high budgets, but as of now no tax has been put in place.
